Das Modul vermittelt Kenntnisse der mikroökonomischen Begründung staatlichen Handelns. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei das Marktversagen infolge von externen Effekten, Unteilbarkeiten und Marktmacht sowie von Informations- und Anpassungsmängeln. Dabei werden auch die Funktionsweise des politischen Sektors und die Möglichkeit eines Politikversagens behandelt.

Das Modul gibt einen Überblick über die Theorie und Empirie der Entwicklung von Märkten. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei das Gründungsgeschehen (Entrepreneurship) und die Möglichkeiten der Stimulierung von Unternehmensgründungen durch die Politik. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt auf den Bestimmungsgründen für den Erfolg bzw. den Misserfolg von Unternehmen.

Das Seminar vermittelt ein vertieftes Verständnis für Themen aus den Bereichen Markt, Wettbewerb, Regulierung bzw. Entrepreneurship, Marktdynamik und Wirtschaftsentwicklung. Im Rahmen von Vorträgen sind die zentralen Ergebnisse der schriftlichen Arbeiten zu präsentieren und durch die Gruppe der Seminarteilnehmer zu diskutieren. Darüber hinaus hält jedeer Seminarteilnehmer ein Koreferat zur Seminararbeit eines anderen Teilnehmers. Das hiermit verfolgte Lernziel des Erwerbs kritischer Diskussionsfähigkeit erfordert jeweils die Anwesenheit der Seminarteilnehmer und deren aktive Teilnahme an der Diskussion.

Das neue Vertiefungsmodul "Klima und Nachhaltigkeit"External link beschäftigt sich mit klimapolitischen Fragestellungen aus umwelt- und ressourcenökonomischer Perspektive. So werden Lösungsansätze für Umweltprobleme auf nationaler sowie internationaler Ebene diskutiert sowie politische Instrumente der Klimapolitik erläutert. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt auf der effizienten und nachhaltigen Nutzung nicht erneuerbarer Ressourcen. Die Dozenten Prof. Freytag de und Prof. Menter werden zu speziellen Themen anerkannte Fachleute einladen, um so das Spektrum der Veranstaltung zu erweitern.

This course discusses the main concepts of an innovation system and provides an overview on the different forms of labor division in innovation processes and the consequences that result from the high importance of a division of innovative labor for analysis and for policy. Core issues in the field will be addressed by guided reading and student's presentations. Selected topics include basic issues of a division of innovative labor, the main types of actors involved in innovation processes and their role, modes of knowledge transfer between actors, national, regional, and sectoral systems of innovation, the of the institutional framework as well as policy for innovation systems.

This course provides an overview on important issues and results of entrepreneurship research and on policy approaches towards entrepreneurship. Core issues in the field will be addressed by guided reading and students presentations. Selected topics include the effects of personal environment on entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial personality, entrepreneurial choice, entrepreneurship and institutions as well as entrepreneurship policy.

This course provides an overview on important issues of regional research and on policy approaches towards regional development. 

Selected topics include regional economic theories, causes of regional differences in income and wealth, determinants of regional development, possible strategies and measures for stimulating regional development, practice of regional policy with special focus on the EU.

This seminar focuses on business model innovation in entrepreneurial ecosystems. Within a case study format, students will assess the influences of (disruptive) innovators on the prevalent business models of incumbent firms from various industries. Based on the analyses, strategies shall be derived in order to ensure competitiveness and long-term profitability. The seminar paper has to be presented and discussed. Students will also have to discuss other seminar papers presented.

Falls Sie sich für eine Bachelorarbeit an unserem Lehrstuhl interessieren, wählen Sie ein Thema aus den Bereichen Entrepreneurship, Wirtschaftsentwicklung oder Marktdynamik (Themenliste) aus oder schlagen ein eigenes Thema vor, welches zur Forschungsausrichtung des Lehrstuhls passt.

Anmeldung

Auf Basis Ihrer Themenauswahl füllen Sie das Anmeldeformularpdf, 160 kb · de aus und schicken dieses an uiw.wiwi@uni-jena.de. Eine Anmeldung ist jeweils bis zum 15.01., 15.04., 15.07. und 15.10. möglich. Die Mitteilung über Annahme bzw. Ablehnung erfolgt per E-Mail innerhalb von 2 Wochen.

Registrierung

Nachdem Sie sich mit Ihrer Betreurin oder Ihrem Betreuer auf ein konkretes Thema geeinigt haben, erfolgt die Registrierung beim Prüfungsamt. Danach haben Sie 8 Wochen Bearbeitungszeit.

Topic Selection

If you are interested in writing your master thesis at the Chair of Business Dynmics, Innovation and Economic Change, please select a topic within the thematic fields of innovation, entrepreneurship or pulic policy and regional development (Topic list) or propose a different topic that fits the general research direction at the chair.

Application

Once you have selected potential topics for your master thesis, you can apply for supervision by sending the completed application formpdf, 166 kb · de to uiw.wiwi@uni-jena.de. Supervisors are assigned based on the topic and the availability of our team. Registration is possible until 15.01., 15.04., 15.07. and 15.10. The notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent by e-mail within two weeks. 

Registration

After you have been accepted for writing your master thesis at the Chair of Business Dynamics, Innovation and Economic Change and a topic is agreed with you propective supervisor, you can formally register with the Examination Office (Prüfungsamt) to start the thsis completition process. The processing time is 4 months.
